In SIMULACRA, words that reference popular culture and human values are meshed with bar code technology in a tactile woven series. Using binary language systems found in both hand weaving and code-128 used to create bar codes, the work is fast and slow, ephemeral and tactile, digital and analog.

Each piece is a simulacrum of perceived shared cultural experience. The coded words lose their obvious meaning to become a pattern and texture. The perceived value is altered and lost through this translation.
